The Building and Construction Sector Productivity Partnership has recently published its two-year Productivity Roadmap and the Research Action Plan to address the issue of low productivity in the industry. Its challenge is to build the value of the sector by transforming the way it works from end - to - end and raise its productivity by 20% by 2020, and its vision is to help the industry evolve in to an improved, productive, skilled, innovative and efficient building and construction sector which contributes to increased business profitability and quality of life for all New Zealanders.
The Evidence Workstream developed the Research Action Plan in conjunction with key industry groups and has also begun to commission work on some of the most urgent and high priority projects. The results of these projects are starting to emerge so on the 1stMay 2012 the Evidence Working Group held a half day session with industry, government and researchers to present and discuss the results and early findings of projects that have recently been completed or are currently underway. Initial results of several projects that address priority area for the Productivity Partnership, but which are funded through the Building Research Levy and organisational funds, were also presented during the session.
We hope that the Research Action Workshop will become a regular event and would welcome your feedback on future workshop topics, formats and/or locations are welcome to .
